Cherry Richards for Tamworth acupuncture treatments
Acupuncture treatments for fertility enhancement is now becoming more popular as more evidence is gathered to support its effectiveness.  Tamworth acupuncture practitioner Cherry Richards has experience in fertility treatment using acupuncture treatments..

Cherry is experienced at working with pregnant women and all the symptoms that come with pregnancy.  Nausea, headaches, tiredness, swelling of the legs and ankles, low back pain, indigestion and heartburn are some common symptoms experienced when you become pregnant.

Acupuncture during pregnancy is safe and many women opt for acupuncture treatment instead of drugs because it is harmless and painless.  Anxiety, haemorroids and post natal depression can be treated with acupuncture.
Symptoms treated by acupuncture include menstrual, heavy periods, irregular periods, PMT, breast tenderness, headaches, migraines and mood swings.

Endometriosis, fibroids, polycystic ovary syndrome, thrush infections and menopausal symptoms.

Infertility can be an involvement of both male and female genders.
If you are planning to use high tech fertility treatments or take a more natural approach, acupuncture can increase your chances of achieving a pregnancy and healthy baby.

Acupuncture uses the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine to balance the system.  By strengthening the patients health, the inborn ability of conception is boosted.  A healthy, more balanced body will be more likely to conceive  naturally
When do you begin acupuncture treatments?
Before Pregnancy

Preparation before pregnancy can begin for a couple of months prior to conception.  If both partners adopt a preconceptual healthcare programme including acupuncture and nutrition for at least 3-4 months prior to conception, it is possible to have a beneficial impact on the health of both the egg and sperm and reproductive outcomes.

First Trimester  ( 0-12 weeks )

Many women are reluctant to take drugs during pregnancy and are looking for safe alternatives.  Acupuncture can help relieve fatigue, nausea, anxiety, stress, constipation and miscarriage.

Second Trimester  ( 2- 28 weeks )

Acupuncture every 2-3 weeks can be very supportive during this stage of pregnancy.  Urinary infections, morning sickness, constipation and haemorroids, sleeping difficulties, anxiety, depression, blood pressure problems and backache can all benefit from more regular acupuncture treatments.

Third Trimester  ( 28-40 weeks )

Acupuncture has a valuable role to play in the final stage of pregnancy.  In particular, it can help with breech babies, backache and sciatica, pubic pain, exhaustion, heartburn and induction of labour.

If your baby is "breech" it is worth trying Moxibustion which has been used for centuries in China to turn breech babies.

Pre-birth

In the final 3 weeks of pregnancy acupuncture is recommended to prepare women for childbirth.  Research has shown that the duration of labour in a group of 140 women giving birth for the first time was reduced following acupuncture treatments
